If you are a meat lover or a movie fanatic, you have to visit Katz’s Delicatessen in the Lower East Side. Founded in 1888 by a Russian immigrant family, this New York institution is world famous for two things – the fake orgasm scene played by Meg Ryan in the 1989 cult comedy When Harry Met Sally, and their signature pastrami sandwich hand carved by their expert cutters. Each delicious hot sandwich is made to order. You can also enjoy their other in-house cured meats, daily homemade soups, knishes, potato pancakes, blintzes, hot dogs, pickles and tasty desserts. You can even sit where Meg Ryan sat (there’s a sign hanging over the table). Be sure to have what she had!
