Welcome to spring in New York City! We’re hoping this beautiful weather isn’t an April Fool’s trick but with all of the spring blossoms blooming and restaurant patios opening up for the season, it looks like a good sign! Here are our picks for the best way to spend this weekend in the city.

BONNIE RAITT AT THE BEACON
Currently touring with her seventeenth studio album, Dig in Deep, Bonnie Raitt brings her mix of blues, folk, rock, and country to NYC for two nights. Expect new material mixed in with classic favorites at her show at the Beacon Theatre.

INTERNATIONAL PILLOW FIGHT DAY
This Saturday feathers will fly (figuratively speaking) all over the world during International Pillow Fight Day! NYC’s festivities are going down in Washington Square Park at 3pm, all you have to do to participate is bring a soft, feather-free pillow and only swing at other people carrying pillows. If you buy your pillow at any Sleepy’s location and use the code pillowfight1, $3 of your purchase will be donated to Dare2B, an organization fighting child homelessness in New York City.

BROOKLYN FLEA OUTDOOR MARKETS REOPEN
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, that is the weekend that the fabulous Brooklyn Flea markets set up shop in their outdoor locations for the season! You have four options over the course of Saturday and Sunday, visit the Fort Greene Flea Saturday from 10am-5pm or the new DUMBO Flea Sunday from 10am-5pm for hundreds of vendors selling vintage clothing, antiques, crafts from local artisans, and food. Or if you’re looking to eat your way through 100 food and drink vendors from throughout the New York City area, try the Williamsburg Smorgasburg Saturday from 11am-6pm or the Prospect Park Smorgasburg from 11am-6pm.

PAUL TAYLOR AMERICAN MODERN DANCE
The amazing Paul Taylor Dance Company dances the last shows in their Lincoln Center season this weekend. The season featured two premieres by Paul Taylor, a work by Martha Graham, premieres of dances commissioned by Mr. Taylor from two of today’s leading choreographers: Larry Keigwin and Doug Elkins, and 14 Taylor classics, making it a season that shouldn’t be missed!
