It’s 4th of July weekend and lucky you, you get to spend it in the best city in the world! NYC is full of events this weekend including fireworks, barbecues, music festivals and more. We’ve put together a list of some of our favorites in this special 4th of July themed blog post!

SUMMERSTAGE
Get outside and enjoy FREE concerts all weekend long at SummerStage at Rumsey Playfield. Dance to your hearts content at Freedom Party® NYC on Saturday night, the longest running, weekly, Friday-night party in NYC history. Sunday enjoy beautiful music from Nigerian musicians King Sunny Adé and Orlando Julius and The Afro Soundz followed by an evening concert from Go-Go group Trouble Funk.

FESTIVAL OF INDEPENDENCE
This annual festival takes over the South Street Seaport Sunday and Monday with an awesome line-up celebrating independent art, music, fashion and food. Stop by the stage on Fulton Street to hear music from independent artists curated by Noisey, VICE’s music and culture channel, grab something to eat from the Smorgasburg vendors, and stay for a prime view of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks.

RIIS PARK BEACH BAZAAR
Escape the NYC crowds at Riis Park Beach where the Get Summered crew will be providing beach party fun to kick off your 4th of July in style. Dance to DJs DIRTY Boogie, Edward Askew, Big Vic, and Smudge, listen to live performances from The House on Cliff and Raycee Jones and explore the food and pop-up shops before hitting the BEACH!

JULY 4TH FRONT ROW FIREWORKS
If you’re looking for a VIP 4th of July experience look no further than The Lure Group’s Front Row Fireworks at the East 34th Street Heliport. You’ll receive exclusive seats to the best view of the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks and access to a private waterfront party with live music, delicious food, and life-size versions of favorite games like Jenga, ping-pong and chess!

NATHAN’S HOT DOG EATING CONTEST AND THE BEACH BOYS
Head down to Coney Island to celebrate the 4th with one of the most American things we can think of…the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest! With Nathan’s celebrating their 100th anniversary, the pressure is on to take home the title, just watch for a little while or you might lose your appetite for you own Nathan’s hot dog! Then hop over to the brand new Coney Island Amphitheater for a live performance from the legendary Beach Boys, led by Mike Love and Bruce Johnston and featuring special guest John Stamos.
